Job summary

Gersh Autism seeks a compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to work directly with students with autism under BCBA supervision. The role involves one-on-one and small group instruction, data collection, and implementation of behavior plans in a year-round school program in Brooklyn, NY.

Requirements include an active RBT certification, a high school diploma (Bachelor's preferred), and experience with ASD in a educational setting.

Qualifications

• Current RBT certification from BACB (active)
• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience working with students with ASD or in a special education setting
• Ability to implement behavior intervention plans and collect data under BCBA guidance
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work well within a team and interact professionally with students, families, and colleagues
• Patience, flexibility, and a passion for working with students with special needs

Responsibilities

• Implement BIPs and IEPs as developed by the BCBA
• Provide one-on-one or small group support in classroom and school settings
• Collect and record data on student behaviors and progress with accuracy
• Assist in teaching strategies for academic, social, and behavioral development
• Conduct behavior management and interventions to improve adaptive behaviors
• Support students with daily living skills and self-regulation
• Collaborate with staff to create a supportive learning environment
• Participate in ongoing supervision sessions with the BCBA
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all aspects of the position
