Job summary

Gersh Autism in Queens, NY is seeking a compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to work with students ages 5-21 under the supervision of a BCBA. You will provide one-on-one instruction, behavioral support, and social skills training to help students achieve individualized goals in a year-round school program.

The role requires current RBT certification, strong communication, patience, and a commitment to improving lives of students with ASD.

Qualifications

• Current RBT certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Prior experience working with students with ASD or in a special education setting.
• Ability to implement behavior intervention plans and collect data under BCBA guidance.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Implement BIPs and IEPs as developed by the BCBA.
• Provide direct one-on-one or small group support in classrooms.
• Collect and record accurate data on student behaviors and progress.
• Assist in the implementation of teaching strategies to support academic, social, and behavioral development.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to create a supportive learning environment.
• Participate in ongoing RBT supervision sessions with the BCBA.
