Job description

Kansas City, MO. Rose Brooks Center, a nonprofit domestic violence agency, is currently seeking a full-time School-Based Prevention Specialist (Grades 6–12).

The Prevention Specialist provides violence prevention services in middle and high school classrooms throughout Jackson County, Missouri, with a primary focus on facilitating student groups for students in Grades 6-12. Prevention Specialists teach resiliency skills and emotional regulation while working closely with Project SAFE staff, school personnel, and students. Additional responsibilities include developing and enhancing program curriculum independently and collaboratively, maintaining accurate and timely program records, and client outcome reports.

Other aspects of the position:

• Perform all job responsibilities while demonstrating proficiency in all RBC competencies and a commitment to the overall mission of Rose Brooks Center.
• Perform functions of job according to agency policies and procedures.
• Participate in all required trainings and optional trainings as determined.
• Attend scheduled staff, team and supervision meetings.

Qualifications:

Hours:

This is a full-time, exempt position scheduled Monday through Friday and requires a minimum of 40 hours/wk. This position works primarily in the schools, but also works on-site in an office environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

This position falls into a range starting at $46,000 annually (exempt) and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Candidates must consent to background and Division of Family Services (Central Registry/Child Abuse) screenings.
