Job summary

Rose Brooks Center is seeking a full-time, exempt Prevention Specialist to deliver violence prevention services in Jackson County, Missouri schools. You will teach resiliency and emotional regulation, work closely with Project SAFE staff and students, and help develop and refine curriculum.

Typical duties include maintaining timely program records, reporting outcomes, and participating in trainings. The role requires a valid driver’s license and a strong collaborative approach in a non-profit

Job description

Rose Brooks Center, a non‑profit domestic violence agency, seeks a full-time, exempt Prevention Specialist, reporting to the Director of Prevention. The Prevention Specialist provides violence prevention services in middle and high school classrooms throughout Jackson County, Missouri. Prevention Specialists teach resiliency skills and emotional regulation while working closely with Project SAFE staff, school personnel, and students. Additional responsibilities include developing and enhancing program curriculum independently and collaboratively, maintaining accurate and timely program records, and client outcome reports.

• Perform all job responsibilities while demonstrating proficiency in all RBC competencies and a commitment to the overall mission of Rose Brooks Center.
• Perform functions of job according to agency policies and procedures.
• Participate in all required trainings and optional trainings as determined.
• Attend scheduled staff, team and supervision meetings.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in social services, education, or related field or commensurate.
• Knowledge of domestic violence.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Hours:

This is a full‑time, exempt position scheduled Monday through Friday and requires a minimum of 40 hours/wk. The position works primarily in the schools but also works on‑site in an office environment. Some evening and weekend availability may be required.

Compensation:

This position falls into a range starting at $48,000 annually (exempt) and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Candidates must consent to background and Division of Family Services (Central Registry/Child Abuse) screenings.
