Job summary
Ampact's Math Corps is seeking a dedicated Math Tutor to work in local schools, delivering small-group tutoring sessions for 20–30 minutes and tracking student progress. You will be trained and coached as you help students build math skills and confidence.
Positions cover the 2026-27 school year with daytime hours, Monday–Friday, 35 hours/week for full-time and 25 hours/week for part-time roles. AmeriCorps stipend information is available on the program page.
Qualifications
- Dependable with a history of good attendance.
- Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
- Proficient in basic computer skills (email, online navigation).
- Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
- 18+ years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
- Ability to successfully complete a background check.
Responsibilities
- Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
- Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to provide support.
- Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach.
- Conduct skill assessments and enter scores into data software.
- Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
- Share your experience with the community.
