Job summary

Princeton Staffing Solutions is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support students in a school-based setting in Fairhaven, MA. You will assist licensed OTs in implementing therapy plans to promote participation and independence across school environments.

You will evaluate, treat, document progress, and collaborate with teachers, families, and the IEP team to meet student goals while ensuring licensure compliance and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• NBCOT certification is required.
• Massachusetts state licensure as a COTA is required.
• Associate degree from an accredited COTA program is required.
• School-based experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating students' developmental needs under the supervision of a licensed OT.
• Carry out individualized treatment plans focusing on fine motor skills, sensory integration, self-care, and coordination.
• Document student progress and adjust interventions as directed by the supervising OT.
• Support students during classroom tasks and adapt materials to meet diverse needs.
• Conduct individual and small group therapy sessions to foster social and functional skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to reinforce therapy goals.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and review of student goals.
• Educate parents and educators on tools and techniques to support therapy outside of sessions.
