Job summary

BHcare in Derby, CT, is hiring a licensed mental health professional to conduct comprehensive assessments and provide individual, family, crisis, and group therapy for students through school-based services. The role emphasizes trauma-informed practices, CBITS, and rapid response to crises across families, schools, and community partners.

Qualifications include a Master’s degree in Social Work or related field and CT licensure or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
• Connecticut licensure or license-eligible status (LCSW preferred).
• Minimum one year of experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, and families.
• Knowledge of assessment, crisis intervention, and treatment planning.
• Experience with crisis assessments and complex behavioral health needs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments, psychosocial evaluations, and treatment planning for students referred through school-based services.
• Provide individual, family, crisis, and group therapy using evidence-based practices, including trauma-informed approaches and CBITS.
• Respond to urgent behavioral health needs, crisis situations, and Rapid Response Evaluations, coordinating care with families, schools, hospitals, and community providers.
• Serve as a liaison and advocate for students and families, helping connect them with services and resources.
• Deliver parenting support programs, clinical consultation, trauma screenings, and other specialized services promoting student well-being.
• Complete timely documentation and clinical records in line with agency, licensing, and regulatory requirements.
