Job summary

Newington Public Schools Districtwide is seeking an Administration/Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (A-8) to support students with behavioral needs in the Least Restrictive Environment. The position partners with school staff to implement ABA-based strategies and to train teams on discrete trial training and data collection.

The analyst will participate in PPT meetings, develop and monitor IEP goals, create Behavioral Intervention Plans, and maintain required records.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a Master's degree with emphasis in psychology, behavioral studies, special education, sociology or related field.
  • Must be a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) or BCABA.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children with special needs.
  • Experience with ABA, VB-MAPP, FBA, and PECS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings for students identified with ASD and other disabilities.
  • Confers with general education and related services staff regarding best practices for ASD.
  • Provides leadership to school teams regarding discrete trial training and ABA programming.
  • Works with EIP and PPT teams to maximize inclusion and supports before placement in restrictive settings.
  • Maintains and communicates progress toward individualized goals for students at school and home.
  • Maintains written records of communication with parents and staff.
  • Provides parent training to understand child’s disability and progress.
  • Designs and implements ABA-based interventions and uses assistive technology appropriately.
  • Provides FBA consultation and develops Behavior Intervention Plans for students with ASD.
  • Supports transitions between levels and less restrictive environments as students age.
  • Maintains IEPs and evaluation reports and prepares required documents.
  • Collaborates on staff training plans to address ASD and challenging behaviors.
  • Oversees therapist implementation of ABA techniques and provides ongoing professional development.
  • Ensures safe environments and crisis management when needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality and data accuracy in all records.
