Job summary

Newington Public Schools is seeking a Behavior Analyst to support students with behavioral challenges in the Least Restrictive Environment. You will train staff, develop behavior plans, and collaborate with district teams to maximize learning opportunities for students with ASD and other disabilities.

The role reports to the Director of Student Services and requires a Master’s degree and BCBA/BCABA certification, plus at least two years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree with emphasis in psychology, behavioral studies, special education, sociology or related field
  • BCBA or BCABA certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with children with special needs
  • Experience with ABA, VB-MAPP, FBA and PECS strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Participates in PPT meetings for students identified with ASD and other disabilities
  • Confers with teachers and related staff on best practices for ASD
  • Provides leadership on discrete trial training and ABA programming
  • Collaborates with EIP and PPT teams to include students in general education
  • Develops measurable goals for students at school and home
  • Maintains organized records of communications and reports
  • Delivers parent training to support child progress
  • Designs and implements behavior interventions and trainings for staff
  • Oversees ABA technique implementation and staff development
  • Prepares IEPs and evaluation reports as requested
  • Collaborates with district teams on training plans for staff
  • Supports transitions to less restrictive environments
  • Ensures compliance with district procedures and confidentiality
