Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing seeks an onsite Sign Language Interpreter to support a K-12 environment near Valdosta, GA. This full-time contract role focuses on providing accurate in-person interpretation for students across general education and special education classrooms.

You will collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure accessible education, maintain confidentiality, and participate in IEP-related meetings as needed. Recent GaPSC-licensed interpreters with EIPA 3.5+ preferred.

Qualifications

• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher is required.
• GaPSC Educational Interpreter License issued by GaPSC.
• Previous experience interpreting for school-aged children or within educational settings.
• Familiarity with K-12 classroom environments and the needs of diverse learners.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Dedication to fostering inclusive and accessible learning outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver in-person sign language interpretation for students across general and special education classrooms.
• Support student engagement and understanding through clear and accurate interpretation of classroom instruction, discussions, and school events.
• Collaborate with educators, specialists, and support staff to ensure seamless communication and integration of services.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all school interactions.
• Participate in meetings, IEPs, and other events as needed to support the educational team.
• Adapt interpretation styles to suit individual student needs and classroom settings.
