Job summary

The YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South is seeking a Program Director 1 to provide direct leadership for staff in School Age programs, ensuring child safety and fostering social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth. The role includes building strong relationships with YMCA staff, school staff, and participants and supporting cross-area leadership activities such as training and recruitment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or TECA certificate or equivalent with related experience in child development / management.
• Experience in YMCA programs or childcare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned sites and oversee operation of school-age before/after and camp programs.
• Coach site directors and group leaders on program planning, curricula, and spaces.
• Ensure licensing compliance, enrollment targets, and high-quality program delivery.
• Plan parent involvement events and maintain relationships with partners.
• Address performance issues with HR and supervisors.
