Job summary

The YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South seeks a Program Director 1 to lead School Age programs, ensuring safety and supporting children’s social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth. You will mentor site directors, coordinate curriculum, and build partnerships with schools and communities.

Ideal candidate has YMCA program/childcare experience, strong supervisory skills, and a commitment to mission delivery. This is an on-site, full-time role involving evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with TECTA certificate or equivalent per Department guidance.
• Two years of college (30 hours) with two years of experience in a group setting.
• Four-year degree and one year of full-time group setting experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead sites and ensure safe operation of school age before/after and camp programs.
• Coach Site Directors and Group Leaders in program planning, curriculum, and spaces.
• Plan and implement a high-quality, developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Maintain licensing compliance and accurate records.
• Drive enrollment and engage partners in the community.
• Schedule staff and review timecards; address performance issues.
• Support fundraising and participate in staff meetings and events.
