Job summary

The YMCA of Delaware is seeking an Administrator for the Before/After Care program. You will supervise on-site activities, support children's development, and communicate with families to ensure a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment.

Key duties include daily care, behavior support, planning age-appropriate activities, documenting attendance and meals, and participating in staff meetings and trainings to maintain licensing standards and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 20 years old and meet one of the listed education options.
• High school diploma and college credits as specified.
• Successful completion of required background checks and health screenings within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Be on-site 50% of operating hours to support the program.
• Supervise sites, children, groups and activities with safe childcare practices.
• Provide daily care for children including feeding and social-emotional support.
• Encourage and engage children in classroom activities.
• Implement positive behavior management techniques.
• Plan and participate in daily age-appropriate activities to ensure learning opportunities.
• Observe children and document progress and development.
• Communicate with co-workers, branch administration and parents to maintain positive relationships.
• Ensure the facility and equipment are clean, safe and well-maintained.
• Complete and maintain required program documentation (attendance, meals, drills, parent notes).
• Attend family nights, program activities, staff meetings and professional trainings.
