Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Bergen County is looking for a Group Leader to assist the Site Supervisor in the School Age Before or After Care program. You will supervise children, help lead activities, and contribute to a safe, caring environment for all participants.

Responsibilities include coordinating transitions, supporting snacks and activities, and upholding health and safety protocols. You will collaborate with families, school staff, and fellow staff while participating in required trainings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; college credits/degree preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with staff, families and school personnel.
• Ability to supervise groups of children and implement activities according to YMCA curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level supervision for children and maintain safety following supervision standards.
• Lead or assist with activities and games, and support snacks and homework help as assigned.
• Follow safety protocols and participate in monthly drills; maintain clean and sanitary environment.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and school staff; model appropriate behavior.
• Report maintenance or supply needs to the Site Supervisor and support program planning.
