Job summary

The YMCA of Delaware is hiring for a School Age Administrator to oversee the Before/After Care program at our Delaware locations. On-site supervision and direct care of children will be required, with a focus on safety, development, and family partnerships.

Responsibilities include planning age-appropriate activities, documenting attendance and progress, and collaborating with staff and parents to ensure a high-quality program. Licensing standards and robust communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Must meet licensing requirements and be at least 20 years of age.
• Option 1: at least high school diploma and 12 college credits in recreation/education/school-age care or administration; six months experience with children K–6.
• Option 2: at least high school diploma and 6 college credits plus Delaware Institute for Excellence in Early Childhood school-age bundle and six months experience.
• Option 3: at least high school diploma and school-age bundle plus twelve months experience with children K–6.

Responsibilities

• Bring consistency and quality to the Before/After Care program by being on-site 50% of operating hours.
• Supervise sites and activities, ensure safe, developmentally appropriate childcare practices.
• Provide daily care for children including feeding and social-emotional support.
• Engage children in classroom activities including literacy, health living, STEM and physical activities.
• Implement positive behavior management techniques and document progress.
