Job summary

Channel Islands YMCA seeks a School Age Childcare Teacher to plan, supervise, and implement programs for school-age children in a licensed setting. You will work with a team to ensure safety and learning, deliver planned activities, and help families feel welcome and supported.

Requirements include 18+ years old, a High School Diploma, 12 ECE units, and at least 6 months of childcare experience, with certifications completed within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 12 units in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
• 6 months of experience in a childcare setting and required certifications within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, supervising, and implementing childcare programs per licensing guidelines.
• Supervise up to 14 children independently; support staff supervising up to 28 children.
• Provide safe, welcoming environments; model positive behavior; implement HEPA standards.
• Deliver activities/lesson plans; maintain cleanliness and safety of the program area.
• Maintain compliance, report concerns, and participate in ongoing trainings.
