Job summary

YMCA of Frederick County is seeking a site leader for the BASE (Before and After School Enrichment) program. You will direct staffing, programming and budgeting, ensuring licensing compliance and high-quality, safe activities for children.

The role requires strong program management, staff supervision, and collaboration with the Regional Director to support enrollment, summer programming and community partnerships. A passion for youth development is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have high school diploma or GED (or 2 college courses).
• 6 semester hours or 90 clock hours of approved training (45 in Child Development, 45 in Curriculum).
• 400 hours of experience in a school age environment, OR 1 year caring for school age children in a registered family child care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee direction and supervision of the Before & After School Enrichment site.
• Manage staffing, programming and budgeting for BASE sites.
• Ensure licensing compliance and MSDE accreditation requirements.
• Maintain safety standards and high-quality programming including arts, STEM, literacy and wellness.
• Coordinate with Regional Director and PLC to support enrollment and summer programs.
• Lead staff training, performance reviews, and parent communications.
