Job summary

YMCA of Frederick County is seeking a part-time BASE Teacher to support before/after school and summer programs at a school site in Frederick, MD. You will care for small groups of children, lead activities, and stand in for the Site Director when needed, ensuring safety and positive development.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, specific MSDE-related training hours, and experience with school-age children. Flexible 12–25 hours weekly with benefits for part-time staff.

Responsibilities

• Take charge of the program in the absence of the Site Director.
• Ensure children’s safety by following the discipline policy and YMCA Code of Conduct.
• Incorporate activities promoting arts, health, STEM, literacy, and social skills.
• Build warm relationships with children and supervise to support development.
• Communicate with parents about the child's day and behavior issues.
• Assist with family events and maintain positive relationships with school staff and parents.
