LSU New Orleans is seeking a Financial Aid Counselor, Scholarships, to advise students and families on federal, state, institutional, and private aid. You will assist with eligibility, disbursement, and scholarship administration, coordinating with committees and Bursar, and supporting scholarship initiatives.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, strong communication, and the ability to manage confidential information with accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience in a higher education institution.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; good computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, e.g. Excel, Word.
• Ability to handle confidential information and work with high accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work some late nights and weekends for university functions and off-campus financial aid workshops and college fairs.

Responsabilités

• Advise and counsel students, parents, and staff on all aspects of financial aid programs.
• Explain financial aid policies, procedures, and office services.
• Assist with eligibility assessment, funds disbursement, and aid reconciliation.
• Assist with administration of scholarships and cash awards.
• Serve as liaison with scholarship committees, bursar, and college offices.
