Job summary

Sun Harbor Healthcare in Charlotte County, FL, is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to keep nursing units staffed and operations smooth. The role emphasizes scheduling, communication, and HIPAA compliance, with a standard schedule Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and pay of $23-$26 per hour.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of staffing coordinator experience in a skilled nursing facility, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and proficiency with scheduling and payroll systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of Staffing Coordinator experience in a skilled nursing facility.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience preparing staffing schedules and nursing payroll.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare staffing regulations.
• Proficiency with scheduling and payroll systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and update nursing staff schedules to ensure appropriate daily coverage.
• Staff nursing units according to census and established staffing guidelines while minimizing overtime.
• Maintain current nursing employee contact information.
• Monitor attendance and tardiness and communicate concerns to the Director of Nursing.
• Collaborate with Human Resources and the Director of Nursing regarding modified duty assignments.
• Assist employees with scheduling requests and staffing-related documentation.
• Prepare and post monthly nursing department schedules.
• Respond to employee questions regarding schedules, staffing, and shift coverage.
• Ensure all new hires receive their ID badge, timecard, and work schedule before orientation.
• Help resolve staffing challenges quickly and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of employee certifications, licenses, and required documentation.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and confidentiality at all times.
• Serve as backup to the Unit Secretary when needed.
• Prepare payroll for nursing department employees and agency staff.
