Job summary

Saint Mary’s Health Network, a member of Prime Healthcare, seeks a Scheduler for full-time daytime shifts to coordinate patient appointments and manage information flow among clinicians and staff.

The ideal candidate will have scheduling experience in a healthcare setting, strong English communication, and solid computer skills to support accurate record keeping and efficient patient care.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated customer service abilities in a professional setting.
• Experience coordinating appointments and patient flow.
• Ability to read, write and speak English clearly.
• Strong basic computer skills and familiarity with office software.
• Courteous, professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Good clerical and organizational abilities for scheduling duties.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is beneficial.
• BLS certification is preferred where applicable.

Responsibilities

The Scheduler routinely schedules and coordinates patient appointments with provider, manages flow of information to physicians, nursing staff, therapists, clerical staff, etc. as necessary to maintain operations, and prioritizes workload to facilitate efficient flow of information messages. The Scheduler also works with coworkers, other departments and outside companies, assisting with the provision of safe, efficient and quality patient care.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• 1. Position requires a high degree of collaboration and customer service with both internal and external customers.
• 2. A minimum of 6 months previous scheduling/patient intake experience in a healthcare setting required.
• 3. Ability to read, write and speak English required.
• 4. Strong basic computer skills required.
• 5. Courteous and professional communication skills required to interact with internal and external customers.
• 6. Strong clerical and organizational skills needed to perform record keeping and scheduling duties.
• 7. Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• 8. BLS (AHA) certification preferred.
