Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Scheduler in Clearwater, FL to join a multi-specialty network. The role supports scheduling needs for GI procedures and coordinates with patients, physicians, and hospital staff to ensure accurate appointments.

The position requires a high school diploma and at least 1 year of customer service or healthcare experience. This full-time role operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional shift variation and travel within the BayCare area.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
• 1 year of healthcare experience preferred.

• Effectively schedules patients by collecting demographic, insurance, and procedure information.
• Accurately schedule procedures.

The Scheduler Is Responsible For

• Effectively and efficiently addresses the needs of both internal and external customers when scheduling patients by carefully collecting demographic, insurance, and procedure information.
• Accurately schedule procedures
• Deliver complex clinical examination instructions
• Document patient response to clinical questions
• Keep the patients physician and hospital offices current with information about their scheduled procedures
• Must be familiar with payer guidelines for balancing authorization requirements with scheduled appointment dates.
• Perform general clerical support that includes answering telephones, data entry, communication, and other assigned duties
• Must be flexible and willing to rotate shifts periodically
• Must be able to travel within the BayCare Health System area using personal transportation
