Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Scheduler in Saint Petersburg, FL to deliver outstanding patient scheduling and customer service within our busy administrative team, supporting over 175 outpatient locations across the BayCare network. The role involves collecting demographics, insurance, and procedure details to ensure accurate scheduling and clear instructions for patients and providers.

The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with possible shift variation and occasional local

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year customer service experience or 1 year healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Effectively and efficiently addresses the needs of both internal and external customers when scheduling patients by carefully collecting demographic, insurance, and procedure information.
• Accurately schedule procedures
• Deliver complex clinical examination instructions
• Document patient response to clinical questions
• Keep the patients physician and hospital offices current with information about their scheduled procedures
• Must be familiar with payer guidelines for balancing authorization requirements with scheduled appointment dates.
• Perform general clerical support that includes answering telephones, data entry, communication, and other assigned duties
• Must be flexible and willing to rotate shifts periodically
• Must be able to travel within the BayCare Health System area using personal transportation
