Job summary

BayCare Health System in St. Petersburg, FL seeks a Scheduler to provide outstanding customer service while coordinating patient procedures. Location: St. Petersburg, FL - Neurosurgery.

Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday. BayCare offers comprehensive benefits and a supportive team environment. The Scheduler will collect demographics, insurance, and procedure details; accurately schedule procedures; document responses; and keep physicians and hospitals updated with scheduling information.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of customer service or 1 year of healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Effectively and efficiently address the needs of both internal and external customers when scheduling patients by collecting demographic, insurance, and procedure information.
• Accurately schedule procedures.
• Deliver complex clinical examination instructions.
• Document patient responses to clinical questions.
• Keep the patient’s physician and hospital offices current with information about scheduled procedures.
• Must be familiar with payer guidelines for balancing authorization requirements with scheduled appointment dates.
• Perform general clerical support including answering telephones and data entry.
• Must be flexible and willing to rotate shifts periodically.
• Must be able to travel within the BayCare Health System area using personal transportation.
