Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Scheduler in Tampa, FL who delivers outstanding customer service and coordinates patient appointments across multiple clinics. The role requires collecting demographics and insurance data, scheduling procedures, and communicating effectively with patients and providers.

This full-time position offers a Monday–Friday day shift, with occasional shift variability and local travel within the BayCare system.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of customer service experience.
• 1 year of healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Effectively and efficiently addresses the needs of both internal and external customers when scheduling patients by collecting demographic, insurance, and procedure information.
• Accurately schedule procedures.
• Deliver complex clinical examination instructions.
• Document patient response to clinical questions.
• Keep the patients physician and hospital offices current with information about their scheduled procedures.
• Must be familiar with payer guidelines for balancing authorization requirements with scheduled appointment dates.
• Perform general clerical support that includes answering telephones, data entry, communication, and other assigned duties.
• Must be flexible and willing to rotate shifts periodically.
• Must be able to travel within the BayCare Health System area using personal transportation.

• Status: Full-time
• Shift Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (May Vary)
• Shift Days: Monday thru Friday
• Location: Tampa, FL - MLK Adult Ortho
