Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous medical office, scheduling, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments.
  • Coordinate provider calendars and maintain accurate scheduling records.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries professionally.
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and referral requirements.
  • Communicate appointment instructions, preparation requirements, and follow-up information.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Manage appointment reminders and reduce scheduling conflicts or no-shows.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff regarding urgent appointments and scheduling adjustments.
  • Enter and update patient information in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Assist with front desk or administrative duties as needed.

    The Medical Scheduler is responsible for coordinating patient appointments, managing provider schedules, and ensuring efficient daily operations within a healthcare facility. This role serves as a key point of contact for patients and requires strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities
