• Knowledge of book keeping and monetary transaction receipts and account ledgers.
• Knowledge of scale software and accounting software.
• Knowledge to follow solid waste management policies and protocols for permitting and compliance.
• Knowledge to follow safety procedures, and requirements associated with the duties as assigned.
• Knowledge to use a two-way radio.
• Skilled in oral and written communication to customers and operations manager.
• Skilled in quickly and accurately providing monetary mathematical computations.
• Skilled in preparing departmental profitability reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily scale operations and fee collections.
• Train and be accountable for scale staff.
• Handle office operations with scale monitor, computer, printer, and fees calculator.
• Serve as main point of contact by phone and in person for customers, directing to solid waste areas.
• Post fees to customer accounts and prepare daily deposits.
• Perform billing and collections on late accounts.
• Keep the Transfer Station webpage current.
• Adhere to safety policies; note that scavenging is prohibited.
• Maintain an organized, safe work environment.
