Qualifications

• Knowledge of industry terminology, solid waste principles, practices, and procedures.
• Knowledge of book keeping and monetary transaction receipts and account ledgers.
• Knowledge of scale software and accounting software.
• Knowledge to follow solid waste management policies and protocols for permitting and compliance.
• Knowledge to use a two-way radio.
• Skilled in oral and written communication to customers and operations manager.
• Skilled in quickly and accurately providing monetary mathematical computations.
• Skilled in preparing departmental profitability reports.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers at the scale window and manage daily scale operations.
• Direct customers to appropriate waste dumping locations and handle monetary transactions.
• Maintain accurate records, daily deposits, and posting fees to accounts.
• Prepare department transaction records and profitability reports.
• Maintain a tidy, safe, and organized scale attendant desk and files.
• Communicate with the director and staff via phone or radio for daily activities.
