Job summary

Stafford County seeks a supervisor to run the Residential Convenience Facility, Residential Sales, Maintenance, and Commercial Scales of the regional landfill. You will lead a maintenance team in routine upkeep, operate a truck scale, manage fees, deposits, and sales transactions, and ensure accurate daily records.

You will also oversee recycling operations, perform equipment maintenance, and supervise staff while coordinating with permits and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years in building/grounds maintenance or scale operations.
• Supervisory experience required; ability to lead a maintenance team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Residential Convenience Facility, Residential Sales, Maintenance, and Commercial Scales operations.
• Lead maintenance efforts: mowing, trimming, litter control, snow removal, electrical/plumbing work, painting, and construction projects.
• Manage scales, cash handling, fees, and daily deposit records; document and balance cash drawer.
• Schedule and assign work to staff and temporary workers; troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety, permit requirements, and workflow procedures.
