Job summary

Pacer Group is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to provide frontline 24x7x365 monitoring, troubleshooting, and application support for critical Energy Management and SCADA systems in Birmingham, Alabama.

This on-site, contract role requires availability for rotating 8/12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Strong problem solving, communication, and regulatory compliance are essential. Compensation is $30/hr on W2 with benefits listed.

Qualifications

• Frontline technical & application support experience.
• Proficiency with Windows and UNIX/AIX environments.
• Experience with SCADA/EMS systems and distributed networks.
• Ability to follow Change Management and compliance processes.
• Knowledge of CIP/SOX compliance requirements.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SCADA/EMS health and availability.
• Troubleshoot incidents and coordinate resolution.
• Support Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery systems.
• Document incidents from detection to resolution.
• Communicate outages and critical events to stakeholders.
• Adhere to Change Management, security, and compliance procedures.
• Prioritize issues based on operational impact.
• Work rotating 8/12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
