Job summary

Pueblo Water is seeking a skilled SCADA-focused technician to install, troubleshoot and maintain its SCADA, PLC, and instrumentation assets. The role requires CAD drafting, electrical knowledge, and hands-on field experience across control systems in a water treatment and distribution environment.

The ideal candidate will hold an associate degree in a related field or a Journeyman license with SCADA experience, plus a valid Colorado driver license.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Electronics Technology, or related field with one year of CAD experience.
• Master or Journeyman Electrician License with related SCADA or control system experience may substitute for Associates Degree.
• Colorado Class R Driver's License required.
• Colorado Class 1 Water Distribution Operator certification or ability to obtain within one year.
• Continuing education/training required to maintain certification.
• Three+ years of related electrical/electronic hands-on field experience including CAD.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical control systems and SCADA components for Pueblo Water.
• Assist with designing, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and updating Pueblo Water's SCADA System.
• Install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot and maintain SCADA communication systems (cellular, telemetry, wired).
• Integrate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair VFDs in treatment plant and distribution system.
• Integrate, maintain, troubleshoot MCC systems and components.
• Update PLC programs and PLC program databases; update operation and maintenance records.
• Read schematics, wiring diagrams and CAD drawings; perform CAD work as needed.
• Operate and maintain data communication equipment (modems, routers, switches, etc.).
• Participate in safety requirements around medium to high voltage; work with IS dept for security systems.
