Job summary

City of Hutchinson, Kansas is seeking an Engineering Systems Technician to support the SCADA and instrumentation systems across its Water and Wastewater facilities. You will perform calibration, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance on PLCs, RTUs, and related control equipment under supervision of the Water Production Supervisor.

The role involves coordinating with contractors, maintaining documentation, and assisting in GIS data handling and software administration.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.
2 years technical training in electronic maintenance is desirable.
Minimum of one to two years of related experience in electronics and/or radio equipment repair and installation.

Responsibilities

Perform daily inspections and adjustments on instrumentation and control systems in the Wastewater and Water Treatment facilities.
Test, calibrate, and troubleshoot PLCs, RTUs, variable speed drives, and associated equipment.
Update calibration records and maintain system integrity.
Coordinate with contractors and vendors for control system installations and maintenance.
Monitor SCADA performance and prepare required reports.
