Job summary

City of New York’s Department of Environmental Protection seeks a Section Chief of SCADA Development & Planning to lead the SCADA development team, set standards, and align IT, cybersecurity, and engineering requirements.

Responsibilities include building the SCADA Master Plan, coordinating with project teams, implementing DevOps practices, and ensuring documentation and governance across enterprise systems.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering with 4 years related experience, or equivalent.
• 8+ years of full-time experience in IT automation, monitoring, or infrastructure management.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Lead SCADA Development team and project execution.
• Develop and implement the SCADA Master Plan and Road Map.
• Establish SCADA standards, naming conventions, documentation, and procedures.
• Coordinate SCADA/I&C/Automation with engineering and construction teams.
• Collaborate with BIT on SCADA cybersecurity and disaster recovery policies.
• Oversee SCADA architecture, coding standards, change management, and QA.

Education

BS in CS or Engineering

4+ years IT automation/monitoring/infrastructure experience
