Job summary

The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) in New York City seeks an I.T. Automation Engineer within the Bureau of Wastewater Treatment to lead SCADA development and secure IT/SCADA integration across enterprise systems.

You will manage a team, develop SCADA standards, and coordinate with engineering, BIT, and cybersecurity to advance the SCADA master plan and road map while promoting DevOps practices and staff development.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field and 4 years of IT automation engineering experience.
Eight years of experience in IT automation engineering, monitoring engineering, or infrastructure management.
Equivalency options accepted per listed qualifications.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the SCADA Development team and project execution.
Develop and implement SCADA Master Plan and Road Map for BWT.
Establish and maintain SCADA standards, naming conventions, docs and procedures.
Coordinate with engineering/construction teams on SCADA/I&C/Automation projects.
Collaborate with BIT on SCADA cybersecurity and disaster recovery policies.
Oversee SCADA architecture, coding standards, change control and QA.
Plan and deploy solutions within Microsoft enterprise environments.
Lead SCADA integration with other platforms and enterprise systems.
Incorporate DevOps practices and secure development lifecycles.
Guide staff development and promote a collaborative team culture.
Provide input on strategic planning, roadmaps, and budgets.
Engage in professional development and represent DEP at conferences.
