Job summary

TowneBank seeks an SBA Business Lending Specialist to grow loan volume through SBA/USDA programs and to build a strong referral network across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. This role requires independent work, strategic thinking, and collaboration with internal partners to close loans efficiently.

The position emphasizes developing marketing plans, managing pipelines, and ensuring compliance with SBA guidelines as the loan process moves from application to closing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years banking experience in guaranteed government lending.
• Deep knowledge of SBA SOP and related regulations.
• Network within SBA and related organizations.
• Ability to coach and develop staff.
• Excellent managerial, communication, and sales skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops a successful business plan.
• Develops marketing strategies to locate markets and build a 1,000-source referral base.
• Able to source over $2,500,000 per month in new loan applications.
• Reads and interprets credit guidelines and determines loan eligibility.
• Manages loan pipeline and submits applications timely.
• Coordinates with credit and closing processes.
• Ensures compliance with AML/BSA and applicable laws.
