Job summary

Sur La Table in Washington state is seeking a Chef Instructor, Savory to lead in-store savory cooking classes and provide expert instruction, driving sales of cookware and kitchen tools. You will deliver hands-on classes, share culinary techniques, and mentor guests to enhance their cooking experiences.

The role requires 1-2 years of kitchen operations experience, a culinary arts degree or equivalent expertise, plus a Food Manager Certification.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of employment.
• A degree in culinary arts is preferred; however, candidates with extensive culinary experience and demonstrated technical proficiency will be considered in lieu of formal education.
• 1-2 years of kitchen operations experience.
• Valid Food Manager Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty.
• Deliver in-store savory cooking classes and ensure consistency with provided recipes and game plans.
• Communicate technical cooking concepts in a clear, encouraging manner.
• Maintain expertise by staying current on products and participating in available training.
• Support store readiness by assisting with class setup and cleanup, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
