Job summary

Sur La Table is hiring a Chef Instructor, Savory to be the in-store expert for savory cooking, sharing techniques and personalized instruction that supports company initiatives. You will drive sales of cookware, cutlery, and kitchen tools through hands-on savory classes and engaging culinary instruction.

The role requires 1-2 years kitchen operations experience, a culinary arts degree preferred, and a valid Food Manager Certification.

Qualifications

Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of employment.
A degree in culinary arts is preferred; however, candidates with extensive culinary experience and demonstrated technical proficiency will be considered in lieu of formal education.
1-2 years of kitchen operations experience.
Valid Food Manager Certification.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

Represent Sur La Table’s brand by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and loyalty.
Deliver in-store savory cooking classes reflecting the company’s standards and recipes, driving engagement and sales.
Explain technical cooking concepts in a clear, encouraging way to customers.
Stay current on products and participate in available training to maintain expertise.
Assist with class setup, mise en place, and breakdown, ensuring smooth operations.
