Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL is seeking a production supervisor to provide dotted line leadership to the B shift Jemison Production Team, shaping production plans, hiring decisions, and performance reviews to drive safe, repeatable spaceflight manufacturing.

You will work with area and site leadership to prioritize work, ensure conformance to engineering specs, and implement cost reductions and new processes while transitioning from development to production.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in a supervision/leadership position on aerospace development programs.
• Experience with discreet production and processing through the manufacturing flow process.
• Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, and test procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and work ethic in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to hire top talent while maintaining high standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide dotted line leadership to the B shift Jemison Production Team (Mon-Thur, 3:00pm – 1:30 am), including developing resource plans, authoring job descriptions, conducting interviews, making hiring recommendations, assigning tasks, and contributing to performance reviews.
• Interface with area and site leadership to prioritize work based on production schedule and organizational goals.
• Ensure product quality and conformance to engineering specifications.
• Develop and implement cost reductions processes and efficiency improvement measures.
• Implement and refine new manufacturing processes.
• Work with engineering to document and standardize production processes.
• Collaborate with engineering to develop production ready manufacturing approach.
• Review work instructions and provide recommended changes where necessary.
• Assure continued training and skills development to attract, develop, and retain great people.
• Setup new production work areas, including layouts, tooling and equipment setup, etc.
• Assist with transition from development to production by working alongside engineering to successfully transition the product.
• Forecasting and developing recovery plans for constraints critical to the engine delivery schedule.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency.
• Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission and vision.
