Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a proven leader to supervise a production team on the Jemison Production line (Fri-Sun, 5am-5:30pm). You will plan resources, lead hiring, ensure quality per engineering specs, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.

You will work with engineering to standardize procedures, transition from development to production, and develop recovery plans for schedule constraints while building a culture of inclusion and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in a supervision/leadership position, working on aerospace development programs, production lines, or discreet complex technical manufacturing.
• Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide dotted line leadership to the C shift Jemison Production Team (Friday - Sunday 5am - 5:30pm), including developing resource plans, authoring job descriptions, conducting interviews, making hiring recommendations, assigning tasks, and contributing to performance reviews.
• Interface with area and site leadership to prioritize work based on production schedule and organizational goals.
• Ensure product quality and conformance to engineering specifications.
• Develop and implement cost reductions processes and efficiency improvement measures.
• Implement and refine new manufacturing processes.
• Work with engineering to document and standardize production processes.
• Collaborate with engineering to develop production ready manufacturing approach.
• Review work instructions and provide recommended changes where necessary.
• Assure continued training and skills development to attract, develop, and retain great people.
