Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL is seeking a hands-on supervisor for mission/flight operations. The role focuses on leading technicians and operators, planning shift coverage, and ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

You will provide hands-on support for integration, checkout, test, and operations of flight and ground systems, while mentoring team members and coordinating with engineering, planning, logistics, safety, and quality teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of frontline leadership directing technicians or operators.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in mission/flight operations or related field.
• Experience with complex or hazardous systems (cryogenic, high‑voltage, propellants, etc.).
• Ability to read and follow procedures, drawings, schematics, manuals.
• Proven ability to plan and prioritize daily work for a team while meeting safety, quality, and schedule commitments.

Responsibilities

• Lead technicians/operators in day‑to‑day mission, test, and/or operations with focus on safety, quality, and schedule.
• Plan, assign, and monitor work (shift coverage, work center, overtime, backup).
• Ensure work follows procedures, instructions, drawings, and safety/quality requirements.
• Provide hands‑on technical support for integration, checkout, test, and operations.
• Conduct performance check‑ins and reviews; coach and mentor team members.
