Job summary

Amazon Leo, a part of Amazon, is building a high-performance embedded software stack for satellite gateway systems in San Diego. The role focuses on developing reliable, secure software for satellite and ground systems on real-time, fault-tolerant platforms.

You will collaborate with hardware and software teams to bring up board hardware, maintain Yocto/OpenEmbedded builds, and advance driver development across SPI/I3C/I2C/CAN interfaces.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/Math.
• 3+ years embedded firmware development.
• 2+ years with Yocto/OpenEmbedded or a comparable embedded Linux build system.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software in C, C++, and Python, and Linux kernel drivers.
• Write device drivers and system applications for the satellite systems.
• Develop and maintain Linux kernel drivers and device-tree overlays for SPI, I3C, I2C, CAN, GPIO, DMA and UIO interfaces.
• Build Yocto/OpenEmbedded distribution: BitBake recipes and layers, A/B partition boot, secure boot, eMMC and NOR storage, and SWUpdate image generation.
• Leverage modern application frameworks for Embedded Linux and bare-metal/AMP platforms to develop scalable software.
• Debug and resolve complex hardware-software integration issues using logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
