Job summary

Rocket Lab in Tucson, AZ seeks a Senior Director, Business Development - Satellites (TS/SCI) to drive growth in national security satellite solutions. You will identify opportunities, lead capture strategies, and coordinate with government and industry partners to win major contracts.

You will manage relationships across customers and internal teams, develop proposals, and travel up to 50% to meet clients and represent Rocket Lab at conferences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical discipline; 15+ years in BD, PM, or systems engineering in aerospace.
• Knowledge of government acquisition processes and national security landscape.
• Proven track record of securing large contracts (>$20M) and managing strategic relationships.
• Active TS/SCI clearance; travel up to 50% for client meetings and capture activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead BD initiatives for satellite defense solutions and capture strategies.
• Engage with government agencies and prime contractors to secure contracts.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and internal teams.
• Prepare and deliver compelling technical, cost, and schedule proposals.
• Monitor industry trends and competitor activities; adapt strategies accordingly.
• Grow existing opportunities and nurture ongoing customer relationships.
• Represent Rocket Lab at industry conferences and customer meetings.
• Travel as needed to pursue opportunities.
