Job summary

Rocket Lab seeks a Senior Director, Business Development - Satellites (TS/SCI) to lead national security satellite opportunities from Long Beach, CA. You will identify clients, shape strategic partnerships, and drive contracts across government and commercial sectors.

You will guide cross-functional teams to craft winning proposals, monitor industry trends, and grow opportunities with existing customers while expanding Rocket Lab’s market share in the satellite domain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical discipline.
• 15+ years in business development, program management, or systems engineering in aerospace.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with deep US government contracting knowledge.
• Proven track record of securing large contracts (> $20M) and managing strategic relationships.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%.
• Experience selling to US national security or civil space programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead BD initiatives focused on satellite solutions for defense applications.
• Develop capture strategies for large defense or civil space contracts.
• Engage with key stakeholders to build lasting relationships and align Rocket Lab solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to deliver compelling proposals.
