Job summary

Newman Regional Health in Emporia, Kansas is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program on a PRN, on-call basis. You will perform medical-forensic examinations, collect evidence, and provide compassionate, patient-centered care to victims of sexual assault or domestic violence.

Qualified candidates will hold a Kansas RN license with at least three years of RN experience; SANE training and SANE-A are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Kansas.
• Three years of RN experience.
• SANE training completed or in progress.
• SANE-A certification preferred.
• Knowledge of medical-forensic exams and chain of custody.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed care for sexual assault/domestic violence patients.
• Collaborate with physicians, coordinators, law enforcement and advocates.
• Assess patients for medical needs before forensic exams.
• Conduct head-to-toe exams, collect evidence, document thoroughly.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow NRH protocols.
