Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital is seeking a PRN RN SANE Examiner to join the SANE Program. You will assess patients, collect forensic evidence, document findings, and coordinate care with medical staff and prosecutors. The role includes on-call shifts and travel to facilities as needed.

Qualified candidates will have RN licensure, SANE training, and recent RN experience. The position emphasizes trauma-informed care, patient safety, and collaboration with law enforcement and advocacy

Qualifications

• IAFN approved SANE Adolescent/Adult course within 60 days of hire.
• IAFN approved SANE Pediatric course within one year of hire for incumbents hired after April 1, 2018
• BLS through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN)
• One year of recent experience as an RN

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assessment, care and documentation for patients who experienced or witnessed violence.
• Perform forensic evidence collection and maintain chain of custody as requested.
• Develop safety plans and refer for post-care services after discharge.
• Collaborate with medical staff, law enforcement and other agencies as needed.
• Attend on-call schedule and respond within one hour at the designated facility.
• Participate in continuing education as a SANE.
