Job summary

AdventHealth Daytona Beach seeks a qualified Registered Nurse with Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) credentials to join our 24/7 forensic team. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, collaboration with medical staff and law enforcement, and strict adherence to evidence-handling protocols.

You will conduct forensic examinations, document thoroughly, and provide compassionate support to victims. A Nursing Associate degree is required, with a BSN preferred, and at least 1 year hospital

Qualifications

• Associate's of Nursing required.
• Bachelor's of Nursing preferred.
• 1+ year hospital experience required.

Responsibilities

• Takes call to provide 24/7 coverage.
• Conducts forensic examinations and evidence collection for victims of sexual assault.
• Ensures competency and certification as defined by state councils against sexual violence.
• Collaborates with medical and law enforcement professionals to support victims.
• Maintains accurate documentation and follows legal protocols for evidence handling.
• Provides compassionate care and emotional support to victims.
• Assesses victim needs and provides appropriate treatment or referrals.
• Works independently and follows established protocols.
• Communicates effectively with victim advocates and law enforcement.
• Participates in the prosecution phase of cases in a cooperative manner.
• Maintains ethical responsibility to remain unbiased during evidence collection.
