Job summary

Rea, a growing Top 100 business advisory and accounting firm, seeks an Indirect Tax Consulting Manager to support research, controversy, and nexus projects across U.S. sales & use tax. You will engage in tax analysis, client communication, and project delivery in a fast-paced advisory environment.

This role emphasizes collaboration with partners, CPA/CMI development, and leveraging AI tools to enhance tax planning and client service delivery.

Qualifications

• B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited university preferred.
• 4-5 years’ experience in state and local tax consulting, specifically sales and use tax.
• Meeting education requirement for CPA certification or CMI in sales tax (or in line with CMI expectations).
• Travel to assigned client locations is required; overnight travel rare.

Responsibilities

• Assist with nationwide nexus studies for sales tax, income tax, and other tax types.
• Assist with nationwide risk assessments quantifying exposure for sales tax, income tax, and other tax types.
• Assist with voluntary disclosure projects.
• Prepare memoranda on state and local tax issues/taxability of products or services.
• Assist with due diligence projects.
• Assist in sales and use tax audit defense projects.
• Maintain active communication with clients and direct client interaction within the first week.
