Job summary

PetSmart’s Salon Experience Lead (Groomer & Salon Trainer) role focuses on delivering high-quality grooming services while developing new stylists and supporting a high-performing team. You will guide bathers and stylists through certification programs and ensure exceptional pet-parent experiences across all customer touchpoints.

You will lead by example, maintaining store standards, training, coaching, and compliance with company policies, while promoting salon sales and ensuring pet safety

Qualifications

• 2+ years grooming experience; may be asked to complete a technical exam.
• Full time availability; able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency with grooming tools, equipment and products to perform technical work safely.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to safety.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the associate experience and supports development, including training, onboarding, mentoring, coaching and feedback.
• Develops new and existing associates through bather and/or stylist certification.
• Identifies candidates internally to attend academy training to become stylists.
• Delegates and validates completion of salon tasks.
• Addresses associate complaints and grievances.
• Recognizes and celebrates associates driving engagement.
• Manages pet parent experience over the phone, in person or online; responds to concerns.
• Greets and supports pet parents; recommends wellbeing solutions based on pets’ needs.
• Engages with pet parents at checkout to drive rebooking and salon promotions.
• Maintains salon and store standards and ensures adherence to policies and safety procedures.
• Operates and communicates via salon booking tools; supports appointment calls.
