Job summary

PetSmart’s Salon Experience Lead (Groomer & Salon Trainer) oversees grooming services and mentors a high-performing salon team, ensuring top-quality pet care and exceptional customer experiences. The role develops bathers and stylists through the grooming program and leads salon operations to meet sales and service goals.

Responsibilities include training, scheduling, and coaching, while maintaining store standards and compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years grooming experience; may be asked to complete a technical exam.
• Full-time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency with use of grooming tools, equipment and products to perform technical work safely.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safety measures.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the associate experience and supports associate development, including training, onboarding, mentoring, coaching, feedback for performance reviews.
• Develops new and existing associates through bather/stylist certification and academy training.
• Identifies internal candidates for stylist training and advancement.
• Delegates and validates completion of salon tasks; addresses associate complaints and grievances.
• Recognizes and celebrates associates driving engagement.
• Drive pet parent experience and respond to inquiries via telephone, in person, or online.
