Job summary

PetSmart’s Salon Experience Lead (Groomer & Salon Trainer) oversees grooming services and leads the development of bathers and new stylists within a high-performing team. The role emphasizes quality, pet care, and coaching for associates to grow within the program.

The position requires leadership in grooming standards, customer engagement, and adherence to PetSmart’s policies while delivering exceptional pet care and service excellence.

Qualifications

• 2+ years grooming experience; may require a technical exam.
• Full-time availability; ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency with grooming tools, equipment and products to perform services safely.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to safety.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the associate experience and supports associate development through training, onboarding, mentoring, and coaching.
• Develops new and existing associates through bather and/or stylist certification processes.
• Identifies internal candidates to attend academy training to become stylists.
• Delegates and validates completion of daily salon tasks.
• Addresses and administers associate complaints and grievances.
• Promotes salon sales and works to meet productivity and salon metrics.
• Maintains store standards and ensures cleanliness, sanitation and pet safety in the grooming area.
